Car Seat Inspection and Installation

North Lyon County Fire Protection District offers free child safety restraint inspection and installation by appointment only, (775) 575-3310 ask for Kasey or Tim.

We currently have two National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Car Seat Technicians who can inspect and install car seats and give safety tips for children while riding in vehicles.

NRS 484.474 requires children under the age of 6 AND 60 pounds to be in a child restraint while riding in vehicles.

It is recommended that all children under the age of 12 should ride in the back seat.

North Lyon County Fire Protection District received a grant from Nevada Department of Traffic Safety and have car seats to help those in our community who cannot afford to purchase one.
